Racial Justice

“The Live Oak Education Foundation is based on a strong belief in equity and that all kids, no matter their race, socio-economic background, or neighborhood deserve every opportunity afforded to their peers.”

This has been the first sentence in our value statement since day one of the Live Oak Education Foundation. Our commitment to equity drives everything we do, but we believe we can do more. We have partnered with another Live Oak non-profit, Salud y Cariño, to collaboratively create and host the “Live Oak Work Group on Racial Justice.” This work group consists of many stakeholders in Live Oak: teachers, counselors, parents, students, and community activists.

We ❤️ Live Oak, but we know it can be even better.

Please click to read the Live Oak School District Governing Board’s Resolution on Racial Justice (adopted February, 2021), which was directly informed by this letter from the Live Oak Work Group on Racial Justice.
